i loaned my canti-mount front rack out to my friend chris m to use on his fixed-gear bicycle tour from richmond VA to williamsport PA. this is the second time hes done it. he has access to a paint booth in VA and he said he'll paint it for me. suh-weet!
stole away from work for an hour on thurs to bring my regulators to the LWS. they were very helpful and got me going again. very happy i didnt have to send out my regs for repair! so i should be making some good headway on current racks and new ones over the next week.
also tried something i hadnt done for a while..Quality Control, see pic. tube tore apart and left the joint intact. i think i am going to run some experiments using different mixes of tubing diameter and wall thickness and use progressively less brass on them and see how minimal of a fillet is necessary to maintain a solid joint.
spring time in a bike shop! past two weeks have been quite busy at work. i would also like to mention chris and angela's new child, evey. got a chance to meet the young lady this past sunday. adorable!
so, on and off i have been prepping the bits and pieces left to mount the current rack to the fork. tonight i finished off some stuff and prepared to braze some more of it together....
unfortunately my acetylene regulator is malfunctioning. in an attempt to avoid disaster i will have to bring it to my local welding supply and have it serviced. i hope i wont be without it for too long, i'm ready to do some work!
